031:124:Narrated by Ibn Umar - I heard Allah's apostle saying, "When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadhan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Syawal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you... can't see it) then regard the crescent (month) of Ramadhan (as of 30days)."
031:125:Narrated by Abu Huraira - The prophet said, "Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramad...han out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."
031:127:Narrated by Abu Huraira - The prophet said, "Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting.)"
031:138:Narrated by Abu Huraira - The prophet said, "None of you should fast a day or two before the month of Ramadhan unless he has the habit of fasting (Nawafil) (and if his fasting coincides with that day) then he can fast that day."
031:144:Narrated by Anas - Zaid bin Thabit said, "We took the Suhur with the prophet." I asked, "What was the interval between the Suhur and the Adhan?" He replied, "The interval was sufficient to recite 50 verses of the Qur'an."
031:146:Narrated by Anas bin Malik - The prophet said, "Take Suhur for there is a blessing in it."
